    Potentials for tourism development based on protected natural resources in Moravica administrative district territory: Opinion of the city of Čačak residents

    The purpose of this paper is to indicate the potentials for tourism development based on the protected natural resources of the Republic of Serbia situated in the Moravica administrative district territory, the degree of their current utilization for the purposes of tourism and local population information on the above mentioned. Closed-ended survey was conducted (five-point scale) on the random sample of the residents in the urban part of the city of Čačak as the administrative center of the Moravica administrative district. The results are: 1) low degree of information among the local population, 2) medium (good) potential for tourism development, and 3) very low level of its utilization for tourism purposes. The results are also considered according to the natural resources protection type. The contribution of this paper is in the indication of potentially successful elements in future tourism offer for the entities in the field of tourism and hospitality.Publishe

    Multi-criteria decision making trends in ecotourism and sustainable tourism

    The goal of this paper is to provide a comprehensive overview of application of multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) methods in papers from the field of ecotourism and sustainable tourism. A search has been done of the relevant terms in titles, abstracts and keywords found in papers from 26 prominent journals from the field of tourism belonging in Web of Science (WoS) Clarivate Analytics. It has been established which MCDM methods were used and who are the most common authors of such papers. A keyword frequency analysis was also performed. It is established there are 39 papers in the field of ecotourism and sustainable tourism where MCDM methods were applied whereby all were published after the year 2000, as well as that their number is constantly increasing.Publishe

    An overview of online marketing promotion activities in the event tourism of the Moravica district

    The development of technology in the last few decades has led to major changes in almost all areas of the economy. This is mostly related to production and service delivery processes, but also to other accompanying activities, without which the functioning of business systems is unthinkable today. The Internet is probably one of the most important representatives of this development and a factor without which the modern world can hardly be imagined. Its role is also highlighted in the field of marketing with the emergence of a new concept known as Internet marketing. By linking online marketing and manifestations/events, as one of the most important factors in tourism activity, the basis for satisfying the demands that modern age implies in the process of achieving quality relationships with the target market is created. Events and the way of their presentation, as the basis of marketing communications, with their specificities contribute to the uniqueness of a particular area by creating its image. The aim of this paper was to analyze the degree of the use of the Internet in the marketing activities of local tourist organizations as well as the tourist events of the Moravica administrative district, with particular reference to the use of websites and four most popular social networks.Publishe

    This paper aims to introduce the concept of data analysis which could easily be implemented by anybody involved in the subject matter with basic IT knowledge and skills. The paper is divided into two parts, the first of which presents an overview of related research from two points of view: (1) publications which refer to the analysis, or the overall use of open data from the tourism domain and (2) publications which use business intelligence tools to analyse tourism data. Results indicate that there is a significant number of publications but none of them combines the two issues in the field of tourism (open data and business intelligence). The second part refers to the possibilities of using Power BI, the business intelligence tool for analysing available open data about tourism in Serbia.Publishe

    Personal and organizational factors impacting burnout syndrome among hotel employees: A bibliometric and content analysis

    The hotel industry is very vulnerable to unexpected external changes, which have an impact on employees as the major success factors of hotel functioning and success. The aim of this paper is to establish, by conducting a bibliometric and content analysis, the characteristics of existing research in the sphere of hotel employee burnout syndrome and to single out the main factors that influence it. The bibliometric analysis conducted in the beginning of September 2023 found that only 37 papers dealing with burnout among hotel employees were published in only eight journals from the sphere of tourism and hospitality indexed in the Web of Science database (Clarivate Analytics Journal Citation Report). The majority of authors who write about this subject are from the USA and China. Content analysis revealed that burnout syndrome among hotel employees is largely dependent on the personal characteristics of employees, as well as on organizational factors

    The phenomenon of mobbing in Serbia and Europe

    As the phenomenon of abuse in the workplace came to a closer public eye of a broader audience through media coverage, there is not a more fertile ground for a fully detailed problem explanation and search for its short or long-term solution. The dose of seriousness concerning the issue of mobbing isn’t only given for its negative effect on a business organization, but also for the mutation of a society’s culture, as well. The research paper outlines the mobbing phenomenon by presenting the theoretical and practical (statistical) diagnosis through which, for a better understanding of the situation, there are added testimonies of mobbing victims, as well as legal and extra-judicial solutions for the issue. The observation of the phenomena is focused on the research and data presentation, using examples from Serbia and Europe. Putting aside the obvious differences in approach, a great space for implementation of European developed countries’ principles can be seen.     Multi-criteria Decision-making in the Tourism Domain: The Past, Present and Future of the Research Field

    721-735The key objective of this paper is to provide a comprehensive overview of the application of Multi-Criteria Decision- Making (MCDM) methods in papers published in prominent journals within the WoS database related to tourism. Based on the 252 papers which met the search criteria, this study determined the most commonly used MCDM methods as well as the reasons for their application. The study also identified the authors who employed the methods in their papers and whether or not the papers are team-oriented. The time frame within which the papers were published, along with the publishing trends within the specific period and finally, a model intended for predicting the developing trends within this research area was developed. Finally, the application of social network analysis gave an insight into the intellectual structure of the subject discipline and pointed to the most influential papers that were the subject of the content analysis
